New Extra Virgin Minerals from The Body Shop

You guys know how much I like the body shop's products so I just wanted to let you know about the new Mineral makeup, which is available in a compact foundation, a liquid foundation and a loose powder foundation.

I don't have any of these products to swatch for you but here's what they look like and what the body shop's website says in the product description of each product.

I apologise for the lack of swatches, information and image quality.

This cream-to-powder mineral foundation contains pure minerals and cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil for an immaculate, matte finish. It has an ultra-blendable formula and contains a custom brush for flawless application.

  • Medium to full coverage
  • Smooth, matte finish
  • Integrated cruelty-free brush
  • Contains SPF 15
  • Fragrance & Paraben-free

Product description not available at time of publishing.

and the Loose Powder Foundation £15.00 (10g)

This featherlight powder base gives a radiant, natural-looking finish and can be built up for extra coverage. It is non-comedogenic and suitable for sensitive skin.

  • Buildable coverage
  • Radiant finish
  • Covers imperfections and fine lines
  • Dermatologically tested
  • Contains SPF 25

Firstly, what I like about the liquid foundation is that it comes with a pump. I find liquid makeup with a pump dispenser less messy than pouring out the right amount on your hand so your less likely to waste the product.
I think my colour in this foundation would the lightest which is Natural/Ivory but I don't buy new liquid foundations until I've swatched them on my skin.

I think 100ml is a pretty decent size and I like that it's buildable coverage with radiance and covers imperfections and fine lines, sounds like it will work on my combination skin, which at times can be super sensitive too and it also contains an SPF25 which is very important.

Next up is the Loose Powder Foundation and the thing I like about it is its Mineral. I see more and more mineral foundations coming out and after past bad experiences trying new mineral makeup with other brands it fortunately hasn't put me off. I like the body shop so I'm very tempted to not buy the liquid foundation and go for the Loose Power version (stay tuned). I'll probably end up buying both (after I finish my project x pan). I like that this also contains an SPF 25, is non-comedogenic (doesn't clog your pores), had a radiant finish, buildable coverage and covers imperfections and fine lines.

Finally, the Compact Foundation and what I like about it is medium to full coverage, smooth, matte finish, contains SPF15 and is fragrance and paraben free and also comes with a cruely free brush.

Buying makeup without Parabens and Cruelty Free is very important in my decision on whether to buy a product or not. Of course price also has something to do with it as well because I don't have an endless pot of money to spend on new products when I have a completely full organiser with 3 new foundations waiting to be used, but I think these products sound fantastic and I want to try them (dammit why do I have to be in the early stages of my project x pan)?

I don't know if these are permanent, the website doesn't say it's limited edition but I may not get around to trying these products right now as I'm trying to be sensible and not buy any makeup and use up what I have which makes sense because beauty products don't have that long a shelf life these days but I don't want to miss out on these either. Maybe I'll get one of the three soon and try it but I'll let you know what I decide and review it later.

This is a very new range I searched on youtube to find reviews on it and found none but I was surprised it was already on their website and hadn't received a newsletter letting me know about it. I only found it when I looked at what's new and it piqued my interest.

If you've tried these products, please let me know what you think because I really would like to try mineral makeup. I think the quality of mineral makeup has improved since I last dabbled with it many years ago. The brand I used about 3-5 years ago just didn't give me the coverage I needed.  Like I said I'm sure Mineral makeup has improved.

Have a fantastic long weekend *.
