A Revlon Haul and NOTD 23/03/12

I bought this Revlon Christmas giftset in January.  This NOTD is called Electric Pink.

The Revlon giftset was $30 (reduced from the pre-Christmas price of $47.00). I bought it at Farmers (a NZ store similar to John Lewis etc). The Pink Happiness Little Secrets set included a full size (210) Electric Pink polish, a 100ml Revlon Pink Happiness Perfume, a 150ml Pink Happiness Body Lotion and a full size (020) Pink Afterglow Lipgloss. I haven't yet used the lipgloss or the body lotion. The polish on it's own was $19.99, the pink happiness perfume was $59.99, the lipgloss was $15.99 so that's a $95.00 value for $30.00!

The Pink Happiness perfume scent is: a floral fragrance with accents of Lily Of The Valley and enhanced by velvety Jasmine. The Top Notes are: Bergamot, Lemon, Elemi and Black Pepper. The Heart is: Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine and Lily Of The Valley. The Base is: Cedar, Guaiac wood Musk, Vanilla and Tonka BeanIt's smells lovely and I think it's definitely suitable as an everyday perfume.

I definitely scored a bargain. The lady shop assistant was very helpful and I took it to the checkout and she said I could get something else for $20.00 because I had enough points on my Farmers reward card. I was looking at a $20 giftset which had been £30.00 with a polish called (280) Cherry Berry, a new Colorburst Lipstick in (030) Fuchsia and a (180) Pink Again polish so I got this 3 piece set for free!

I'm wearing 1 coat of OPI's Nail Envy nail treatment underneath to help grow my nails/as a base coat.

Electric Pink's a very hot pink but I think it has a berry/red tone to it and I think it's very pretty.

I found it to be thin so I've applied 4 coats. I would've stopped at 3 but it was also a bit streaky.

I think it'd look stunning on toes!

I finished off with 1 coat of Seche Vite Top Coat and I'm going to apply 1 coat each day for the next 2-3 days just to see how long I can wear a polish and hope it stops it chipping. I've been using Seche Vite as my only top coat since November or December and I like how glossy it finishes off the manicure and makes it look almost salon perfect (I say that because my left hand always looks better than the right hand and I'm not a professional nail artist) but it's an improvement on the last NOTD.

Here's is the $20 Revlon Giftset if you wanted to see it.

I had a look through my NZ polish collection today and out of 40 bottles of polish, 10 are Revlon so I guess you could say Revlon's my fave high street/drugstore brand.

What colour are you wearing today?

Note: why is the word spelt Fushcia on beauty products (is this an American spelling?). The word is spelt Fuchsia and was named after a German Scientist called Leonard Fuch who discovered it. The first recorded use of this colour in English was in 1892. I've spelt it Fuchsia and will continue to spell it this way in future blogposts.
