Matrix Sleek Silk Wonder Smoothing Oil

About a month ago I'd run out of Moroccan Oil and whilst having a trim I decided to buy a replacement but my hairdresser had switched to using and selling Matrix products only.

I've never tried any Matrix products before so I decided I needed to try their smoothing oil, which
I feel is very close to Moroccan Oil.

Matrix Sleek Silk Wonder Smoothing oil cost NZ$18.50 (89ml). Unfortunately, I can't say if that price is a good price because the Moroccan Oil I finished up was bought from Buyapowa when I was in the UK. I'm pretty sure a bottle of Moroccan Oil would be $20+ here and I don't have anything to compare it to.

Matrix Sleek Silk Wonder Smoothing Oil

Apply a pea sized amount in the palm of your hand, rub your hands together and run through your just washed or damp hair, or you can use it as a pick-me-up in the middle of the day, or in the afternoon for a bit more softness.

It can make your hairy look oily, so a little goes a long way, I also use it to tame flyaway's and it helps keep the ends of my hair looking healthy. I wouldn't go so far to say that it prevents split ends but I think it's good for my hair.

Yesterday, I went brunette. It's a Mocha colour from Matrix. The colour I had underneath makes it have a reddish tint in the sunlight, but it brings out my blue eyes a lot more than my normal light to mid-brown colour. I like it but it's strange to see my hair so dark.

This morning I didn't wash my hair. I used my Batiste Blush and a little bit of Silk Wonder and my hair feels soft and it looks healthy. I also noticed the hair colour didn't have that much of a strong amonia smell and it didn't tingle my scalp. The hair colour my hairdresser wanted to recommend was a shade lighter but I decided to go one shade darker and the shade she used was Neutral Mocha (8NM) and I think I like it so I'd go for this colour again.

In Summer I like to go lighter but I might keep it dark for a while. I thought of going for an Ombre but then I decided because I had a lot of regrowth and partly the last colour and dare I say it some grey, it'd be better to get it one colour.

I've found when I get my Summer highlights my hair is much more brittle and my hair could do with lots of TLC and less abrasive colouring treatments for a few months.

My hairdresser gave me some Matrix samples so I'm looking forward to trying them.

I'd definitely buy this oil again and in a few weeks (when I run out of my other shampoos) I'm going to try the Matrix samples I was given and see which one I like. I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy the Matrix shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair which costs NZ$18.50 per bottle. I don't know the size but I'll let you know once I've bought them and used them for a while and what I think of these products and I'll try and find Moroccan Oil and review it soon.

I saw yesterday you can buy Matrix Hair products from BeautyBay so I might place an order and have it shipped (if it works out a cheaper way of getting my hands on the products).

All beauty, haircare and skincare products are so expensive here so if I can buy things I like or products I want to try from the UK that cost less then I'll place my orders overseas.

Have you heard of Matrix Hair products before? Which Matrix product(s) do you like?
